Carmen Martín Gaite said that one of the conclusions she had reached after studying it a lot and giving it a lot of thought is that single women who are not going to find a husband are marginalised or caricatured, but they are never really talked to. In "Spinsters" we give them a voice, they tell us their stories and we show how society has told them to us and continues to tell them to us.
